I have DirecTV, so all my TV's in the house have a DirecTV box. I have one regular 36" standard CRT TV in my room, however it has a DirectTV box. Do I still need to buy a TV converter box for this TV being it's not HDTV?

  1. If you have cable or satelite your good. Its just for the people using rabbit ears and getting just the basic channels.

  2. The transition in February 2009 only affects free full power Over The Air (OTA) broadcasts that you would receive with an antenna.  If you wish to watch free OTA TV after next February, you will need an antenna and either a converter box or upgrade to a Digital TV set.

Since you are on DirecTV, you should be OK for awhile.  Cable and Satellite systems are supposed to support old style analog TVs until about 2012.
