My mother has had both hips replaced, as well as knee and lower back operations. Because of the back and hip replacements, doctors say they are not able to determine if she has osteoporosis or not. Apparently, those are the two focus points that show our bone mass in the testing.
Apart from the incredible pains and difficulty walking, she has had these past 24 years, mostly due to bad operations, she's taken a a sudden turn for the worse as far as pain goes and her ability to walk has diminshed quite suddenly. She walks but it is becoming almost impossible. The doctors told her that osteoporosis pains could just appear at any given time. She swears that these new pains are quite different from anything else she has felt. They've given her some sort of nasal meds which are to be applied to a different nostril per day.
My question is, has anyone started taking such meds after the osteoporosis set in and did they see any improvment? Are there any pain killers that may help reduce the pain?
