Question:

Question about ovidrel and false positive pregnancy test?

I took my ovidrel trigger shot on August 7th. I did an hpt on the 13th, which was negative (so obviously no false positives there). I took another hpt this morning, the 17th, and it is now positive. I have heard that ovidrel can give you a false positive but has it been long enough to be out of my system, especially given the negative test earlier in the week? Each time I have been pregnant, I have tested this early and gotten the positive result around this time but I have never gotten pregnant on ovidrel. So my question is, after a negative test after 6 days, then a positive after 10, could it still be the ovidrel giving me a false positive?

Thanks!

  1. not sure u may Google about it or call ur doctor in the morning my friend took test and took test and then took one in the morning and found out she was pregnant i think a week it should be gone and not cause a false reading and it may have taken a few days for ur actual hcg to show up

  2. Ooooh that's a good sign. If you're gotten a + both times, I'd say it was from the shot, but I think you might be pregnant. You need to call your doctor first thing in the morning and get a blood BETA test done, which will give you the actual hCG levels. Best of luck!!!!!
