Question about ovulation. i have been trying to track my ovulation on my-monthly cycles.

my periods have been 1 1/2 weeks late for the last 2 months. my period for june didnt come until july 8th and my period for july came august 4th. now my question is i heard that you ovulate 7 days after your period, is this true? i checked on mymonthly cycles and it said that i ovulate august 15-20. please help!!!!

  1. First of all, what do you mean your cycles have come 1 1/2 weeks late?  How many days apart have your last few cycles been?

    And no, women don't ovulate 7 days after their period, that is false. Ovulation happens on average sometime between 10-16 days before the start of their NEXT period.  


  2. umm what? You said you had your period on July 8 and then you go on to say you had your period for July on Aug 4. Confused much? Haven't been sleeping well lately?

    To answer your question, you ovulate roughly 12-16 days before you next period is due. So, your estimated day of ovulation according to mymonthlycycles.com seems correct. Probably what they're trying to tell you is that you ovulate around Aug 20 and your fertile days are from Aug 15 to 20th.
