Question:

Question about owning businesses?

I'm going to be a criminal justice lawyer in the future. Since there are so many of them I doubt I'll be able to have a good income. So I thought after being I lawyer I should go buy/own some businesses (like small stores, warehouses, etc). Is it possible for me to own and manage a business without doing business courses in college? I've seen so many Middle-Easterners in Michigan whose parents never went to college and they make a lot of money through their stores and wholesales.

  1. You don't need to do business courses in college but it would help you to understand what buying and owning and running small businesses would require.

The internet has excellent resources - you can teach yourself.  (And many successful business owners have taught themselves without the internet.)

I'd strongly recommend that when the time comes you get into a business that you either understand or have researched thoroughly.

Recognize that the more you know and the more you learn, the less the risk of failure.
