questions:

1. what is the clicker training for?

`i have been seeing a lot of budgies videos in youtube training their budgies tricks and being tamed... some use sticks to target the birds.... and mostly use clickers... what are this for? and what is the target training for?

2. do budgies get sick?

-if they are near the kitchen and the clothes washing area....????/

pls tell me...... a person uses detergents and other washing materials and the BUDGIES ARE THERE!!! would they be sick? or else i will change the place of their cages..... pls tELL ME!

3.When training budgies like the taget training....

- is it okay if i say the cue first before they do the trick? i.e. i am target training my budgies and i say "touch" before they do touch it.... and also same with the step up training... is it okay to say "up" before they do it or if they do not do it?

pls tell me a specific answer../

1. the clicker training shows that they did something right. ex: if you want them to not bite... you would say no bite no bite or whatever.. if they dont bite you then you clilck and give them sumthin they want like a treat or maybe alone time. they begin to associate the act of not biting with the clicker whiich is associated with a treat. it all ties together.

2. budgies can get sick easily... but not from a laundry area. they can get sick from the kitchen though. certain fumes pots and pans put out, espeically tephlon can kill them. dont put them near akitchen its like carbon monoxide to them. so is hairspray , some candles, air fresheners etc.

3.  you should say up before and after they do what they are supposed to.

1. I read in a book that you use a clicker when your budgie does something good and then give it a treat and praise.

2.They can get sick from anything that release fumes

into the air like overheated teflon coated pans, candles, air freshener etc.

3.I think it is okay as long your budgie does it shortly after you said the command.

dont cook with teflon. its really bad for them if it gets over heated and into the air. I have heard lots of stories of birds getting sick or dying because there exposed to teflon, you shouldnt have them near the kitchen. Although my mom cooks with teflon and our living room/ dining room/ and kitchen and the hallway are all open to eachother and all three of the bird cages are in the dining room right beside the kitchen and nothing has happend to them yet. but i would watch it just in case.
