  1.   You can enter the Philippines even if your passport is valid for less than six months as of your arrival date.

The turn-around time for passport renewal is 21 working days for regular processing and 14 working days expedited processing.  I want to stress that its working days ( so do not count weekends ).

You also have to factor in the passport renewal activity within days of arrival. You will spend practically a whole day just to submit your renewal application ( personal appearance is required ).

      Have a nice day !

  2. You need 6 months remaining when you enter ANOTHER country.  Since you will be going to your home country that 6 months rule is not applicable.  You will need to renew it before you return to Spain.

  3. 6-month passport validity is required if you are applying for a visa to travel to a country other than the Philippines.  I traveled to Manila last June and my passport has less than 6 months left before its expiration, but I didn't have any problem!  So, renew it when you arrive in Manila.

  4. You have to consider this in your vacation schedule: Renewal of passports takes longer these days because of they now make electronic machine-readable versions. Had my passport renewed in Davao City just recently and wont be getting it sooner than 20 working days. [With extra fee, they do have option for express processing which will take up to 12 working days]... Have a safe trip!
