Okay, i'm planning to bakcpack around Asia in the summer. I plan to fly from Atlanta to Taipei, and there's one connection stop in Tokyo. If I want to explore Tokyo for a few days would I be able to get a pass or something that would allow me to catch the flight to Teipei at another time?

  1. It depends on the restrictions on your airfare. If you stay for a few days, then it is no longer a connection. It's a stopover and it may increase your airfare. However, there are some fares that allow extra stopovers at little or no extra charge.

You'll have to call the airline or your travel agent to see if there is a fare that permits this within your budget.

  2. The Shadow is right on!!!!

Also depends on how your ticket was written!  I would check with the airline!
