  1. yes

  2. Yes it is.

  3. the rules i played straight from the book tell that if he shoots and scratches the table is still open and you get the next shot

  4. yes, still an open table.

  5. Yep still open the next shooter will just have the cue ball in hand.

  6. According to WPA world-standardized rules:

3.4 Open Table / Choosing Groups

Before groups are determined, the table is said to be “open,” and before each shot, the shooter must call his intended ball. If the shooter legally pockets his called ball, the corresponding group becomes his, and his opponent is assigned the other group. If he fails to legally pocket his called ball, the table remains open and play passes to the other player. When the table is “open”, any object ball may be struck first except the eight ball.

The table is still open because scratching is a foul and therefore the ball was not legally pocketed.

  7. yes ..... and if he `scratches` , he is not confident to play the Game.    you show him who can play correctly..!

    it`s a `psyche-out` trick.

don`t use it and don`t fall for it.!

  8. Yep. Still open til a legal shot is completed.

  11. if he sunk one then scratched, the the table is not open. but if he scratches the sinks one, then you put the ball he sunk on the dot.
