Question about poker?

I am taking a statistics class and the question ask about possible combinations of poker hands. I dont play poker so I dont know what this means can any one explain.

Three of a kind- Does this mean that the three cars in a suit have to be consecutive?

a pair- does this mean any two cards in a suit?

Full house- What the heck does this mean?

3 of a kind means three of the same card (ex. three Jacks)

A pair means two of the same card ( ex. two Aces)

A full house means three of a kind with a pair (ex. three Jacks and two Aces)
