Today I walked from my apartment about 5 blocks down the road to pick up some bus tickets to go to the clinic to get my Diclecton ( morning sickness med) when I got to the building and almost passed out i was sweating couldnt breath and was very dizzy and light headed . They called an abulance for me and my 5 year old son poor little guy who was very frightend seeing so many things on me including and oxygen mask we rished to teh hospital by that time my "blood pressure had dropped to normal and everything was normal again I got blood work done from my wrist( artery) and from my inner arm and my finger for diabeties but everything came back normal!!! I left the hospiatl 3 hours later with my son I literally walked to the end of teh drive way at the hospital which is liek 3 mins. and I was instatnly out of breath and my heart was pounding like crazy again ! I felt like going back and insisting they check for more . But I kept walking to the pharmacy to pick up my diclecton and took a bus home I got home and I was exhausted I started looking things up on line about pre-eclampsia somthing that the ambulance man asked me if i had or heard of . I read on it and WOW!! so many similar symptoms and I am a little upset that they didnt even check my urine ! ( I was also complaining of discomfort and mild pain in my right side of my tummy anyways I feel dumb going in by ambulance for what seemed to be nothing and I am very sure something is wrong ! I live on teh other side of town and dont drive and I want to insist they check me for pre-eclampsia or somthing similar . I feel very blown off .I just want to make sure my (19 week old pregnancy is going well and I want to make sure that my 5 year old never sees that episode ever again ! . I know I rambeled off here but I guess I would like to knwo what would you do in my situation ?

Thank you for your time god bless !

  1. I  HAVE HAD PRE ECLAMPSIA MY LAST 3 PREGNANCIES AND USUALLY WHEN YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE GETS HIGH YOU SEE SPOTS AND A LOT OF THEM ASK YOUR DR TO KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PRESSURE AND WATCH FOR SWELLING ALSO IF YOU  LAY ON YOUR SIDE THIS IS SUPPOST TO HELP GOO LUCK I ALSO ALWAYS SUFFERED MINE ATABOUT 32 WEEKS NOT SURE HOW SOON YOU CAN DEVELOP IT

  2. I was hospitalized with preeclampsia, and it wasn't fun, that's for sure. What's crazy is that I didn't even feel that bad. I went in for a check up and they admitted me right there and said if my blood pressure didn't go down to normal within 24 hrs. they were going to induce labor. One thing I can tell you is that if you think you may have this, then DO NOT eat any sodium(salt). I was put on a strict diet, and I mean STRICT. After they tell you what you can't have, there's not much left to work with. Keep your legs propped up if you notice excessive ankle swelling, and to help keep your blood pressure normal lay on your left side. It's been a long time for me, I wish I could remember more to help you. Obviously, if you feel that you or the baby is in danger, don't worry about how it looks, just get your butt to the hospital. Best of Luck! Also, I gained about seventy-five lbs. during this pregnancy, but lost almost all of it immediately after giving birth because the preeclampsia makes you hold so much salt and water, so once that baby is out so is most of the weight. If you feel like you're really holding lots of water, let the doc know.

  3. What was your blood pressure at the er? You could be borderline pre-elampsia. I was. But it sounds as if you are suffering.

    Symptoms are-

    Hypertension

    Swelling or Edema

    Proteinuria

    Sudden Weight Gain

    Headache

    Nausea or Vomiting

    Changes in Vision

Racing pulse, mental confusion, heightened anxiety, trouble catching your breath

    Stomach or Right Shoulder Pain

    Lower back pain

    Hyperreflexia

Demand to be seen again or get a second opinion. This is very serious.
