Question about processors and Intel and AMD ?

im confused here with tha whole processor conecpt,

a processor has a company, a brand and a model

i mean

for example,

Intel Core2 Quad Inside

is Intel tha company?

is Core2 tha brand? or model ?

is Inside tha model or brand or company ?

same with Intel Pentium 4 and Pentium D

Intel Inside

Intel Pentium

Intel Core2

Core duo

AMD Phenom

AMD Semphron

AMD this AMD that

Intel this Intel that

i mean,

when speaking about processors, which is tha model, tha brand, tha company, etc etc ??? and what are tha numbers at tha end are of some processors ?

The two main chip makers are Intel and AMD.

"Intel inside" is just a marketing phrase to say that a product has an Intel Processor.

Pentium is a range of processors from Intel such as Pentium 3, Pentium 4, Pentium D.

The newest from Intel such as Core 2 and core duo have the equivalent of two processors so can do more.

AMD seem to be lagging behind Intel at the moment, but personally I have AMD chips in my pc and laptop.
