  1. The definition of an atheist is "a person who doesn't believe in God" and an agnostic is "a person who doesn't know if there's a God".

  2. Try http://www.dictionary.com

  3. Agnostics kind of believe, but are not sure whether there is a god. Atheists believe there is no god, and want solid proof before acknowledging his presence.

  4. Atheist: Believes that no gods exist.

Agnostic: Believes that nobody can know whether or not God exists. Agnostics can be atheistic or theistic.

  5. Atheist - Without belief in god

Agnostic - means that you think that god can't be proven or disproven.

  6. An atheist doesn't believe that god exists.

An agnostic says we cannot know if god exists or not.

  7. Atheist don't believe in God...agnostics doubt His existence.

If you were a born again christian...God would have given you an understanding of Himself.

  8. Atheist doesn't believe God excists, while Agnostic means that they're not sure whether God excists or not.

  9. Atheists know what they believe...Agnostics are fence sitters.

  10. Atheists believe that there is no god. Agnostics are don't know if God exists

  11. Atheists do not believe in any gods.

I think "agnostic" just means you're not sure or haven't made a firm decision. Maybe still searching.

  12. Atheists know in their hearts that there is no god.  Agnostics belive there may or may not be a god because there is no proof.

  13. Atheism, as an explicit position, can be either the affirmation of the nonexistence of gods, or the rejection of theism. It is also defined more broadly as synonymous with any form of nontheism, including the simple absence of belief in deities.

Many self-described atheists are skeptical of all supernatural beings and cite a lack of empirical evidence for the existence of deities. Others argue for atheism on philosophical, social or historical grounds. Although many self-described atheists tend toward secular philosophies such as humanism and naturalism, there is no one ideology or set of behaviors to which all atheists adhere; and some religions, such as Jainism and Theravada Buddhism, do not require belief in a personal god.

Agnosticism (Greek: α- a-, without + γνώσις gnōsis, knowledge; after Gnosticism) is the philosophical view that the truth value of certain claims — particularly metaphysical claims regarding theology, afterlife or the existence of God, gods, deities, or even ultimate reality — is unknown or, depending on the form of agnosticism, inherently unknowable.

Demographic research services normally list agnostics in the same category as atheists and non-religious people, using 'agnostic' in the newer sense of 'noncommittal'. However, this can be misleading given the existence of agnostic theists, who identify themselves as both agnostics in the original sense and followers of a particular religion.

Philosophers and thinkers who have written about agnosticism include Thomas Henry Huxley, Robert G. Ingersoll, and Bertrand Russell. Religious scholars who wrote about agnosticism are Peter Kreeft, Blaise Pascal and Joseph Ratzinger, later elected as Pope Benedict XVI.

  14. agnostic don't believe in a particular creed of the rubbish

atheists don't take it seriously enough to care

  15. Neither the existence nor the non-existence of an Invisible Undetectable Entity can be Empirically demonstrated.  Agnostics acknowledge that and simply say they don't know or care.  Atheists and Theists both base their belief on pure faith, which is acceptance without demonstration, and falsely claim to have evidence on their side.  The common one is "You can't prove there is a God, that proves their isn't one", which is countered with "You can't prove there isn't a God, that proves there is one".  Personally I have all the evidence that I personally need in my own life and in the serenity and happiness my spiritual path brings me, it's not my job or concern to prove it to anyone else, it's for them to find the path that works for them, as I have.
