Question:

Question about restaurant interview?

i had an interview thursday night to be a host at a restaurant that was very desperate for hosts and i thought it went pretty well, and after the interview the manager said he would call me to schedule the 2nd interview with another boss/manager with him to ask more questions, and asked me what phone number on the application would be the best way to contact me. and the other hosts said that they had a second interview with the other manager. so far he still hasn't called me, and i'm getting worried that i didn't get the job. so if i would've gotten the job, would i have been contacted for a second interview by now? or should i be more patient? should i call them tomorrow or monday to follow up on it, or would i seem too eager/impatient? thanks! other advice is also greatly appreciated

  1. Show up early in person when they open up.  Do not call!!  that is death to a job in question.  Restaurant owners hate the sound of that ringing!

  2. Weekends are always the busiest time for any restaurant & it's a terrible time to try and train someone. They're probably just waiting 'til Mon. to call. Don't worry. You can go in and inquire politely when you know they're not gonna have a rush (12p.m., etc) and see for yourself, but they'll probably call you by then. good luck
