well, my class is going on a trip near the end of May to Hershey Park. and I'm kind of scared because I'm big and i don't know if the rollercoaster or any ride will fit me. I know this is kind of a dumb question and I'm trying to lose weight before it but I still won't be skinny. so if you have any ideas or experiences at hershey park and know what the seats are like please tell me. and no rude comments please (:

  1. Its not about weight, its about proportions. It just depends on how you are built and the restraint system in question. There are some rides that are are hard for people that have large thighs, others aren't friendly to large hips, and others are difficult for those with a large chest. Some extremely tall people have trouble fitting on some coasters/rides as well.

Many rides have a test seat at the entrance so people don't have to wait in line only to find that they don't fit.

    Hope this helps....

  2. Have you gone online? I did.  I went online before going to Six Flags in California and read the specs on all roller coasters, that way I knew which rides to avoid.  The rides that have a lap bar are usually the ones that seem to squeeze the thighs, especially because you will most likely ride with someone else and they may have thinner legs.  Don't go with a frown, have a great time and take lots of pictures!

  3. I have seen people that I couldn't believe could support their own weight fit into those things, they are designed to be adjustable so that large and small alike can enjoy. Most parks have websites where you can read all the height and weight restrictions and have a good look at the coasters beforehand. If you are scared I recommend you keep your eyes closed the first time to get used to the feeling which isn't bad at all, then try and keep your eyes open the second time. I love roller coasters they are a lot of fun, I hope this eases your mind a bit and I hope you have a great time :)

  4. Here's the website.

If the information you want isn't there, you could call them on teh phone and ask.

  5. The biggest factor in your decisions of what rides to go on is your fear.  To make your trip more enjoyable, eliminate that fear as much as possible.  One thing that might help is not going on rides where you would be upside down.  Otherwise, you're always secure because they'll have seatbelts and lap-bars so there's a one-in-a-trillion chance you'll fall out.

By the way, I'm pretty big, and I haven't even come close to falling out, so you won't either.  :-)

  6. I think you should be fine because mostly all theme park rollercoasters are meant for people of all sizes.  I doubt that you would have a problem getting on the rides unless it is some small, little kid ride, but those usually go by height not size.

  7. just dont go on them if your scared-i usually don't go on the crazy looking roller coasters, i wont go on anything that puts me upside down. It really depends how big you are but usually they are ok for most people.
