Question about routers.?

I have a internet connection at work and I'm using their router to browse online. I'm using an ethernet cable to connect to my laptop.

My question, can My employee see what im browsing? if so, how can I block it? Im using vista. I just want to check my mail but dont want to get in trouble.

  1. YES, even without any 3rd party software.  If it's his computer, he can just look at your history file and see exactly what you did and at what times you did it.  Even things not dont over the internet.  If he didnt disable your ablility to delete history, you can just delete the file every day if you like.


  2. You are using a shared connection meaning everyone is receiving internet packages from one place, a router. It depends if your employees have access to the internet folders. I doubt they do. Only administrators as in boss of your work place has the permission to look through your computer. Looking through your computer doesnt mean watching what you do, but only the boss can access your computer files. Such as my documents, my music, ect.. but i doubt a boss would have the time just to do non-sense like that.

Chances are your company has internet monitoring software installed on their proxy server, and if so, they will be able to pull up any and all records of where you surfed, when you surfed, and so on. No matter what you attempt to block, your access to the internet goes through the company proxy server, and it's only there that certain types of websites can be blocked or unblocked. It's out of your hands.
