Question:

Question about running 100m?

I've never been on a track and field team. I have never run competitively, or, really that much at all.

I ran a measured 100 meters today. I haven't ran like that for two years. (I used to run occasionally, just for fun, and sometimes for American football and other sports). This was the first time I ran a "measured" 100m.

That being said, I got a time of 13.313 sec. I know it's not great. I just want to know if it is a good first time.

And, is there tips or methods to running faster? (Besides obviously practicing over and over)

  1. It depends how old u r 0-15 is amazing-great 16-up good to okay!!!

  2. I think that is a good time even if it wasnt your first go :)

I used to watch 100m people training for their sprint and what they mainly do is work on their technique keeping their arms at a 90 degree angle and going fast. You should work on your crouch start aswell if you use the blocks as it isnt easy to get a good reaction time with the gun so it is most important to do so.

100m sprinters mainly do 50-100m reps which is doing their sprint and walking or jogging back to the start mark. some even do 200m depends on what they are training for.

    Good luck. :)
