  1. start with 2 miles now at a pace that you can run at evenly the whole time

every two or three weeks add in 5 minutes

id suggest running monday to friday the same distance; on saturdays, take the distance you ran daily on that week and add 5 -10 minutes; on sundays, take a break

  2. Go to www.jeffgalloway.com- he writes the Beginner column for Runner's World. Read the beginner and training sections.

  3. every other day 5km at a comfortable pace.

  4. run however many times a week that you feel necessary. dont let any one person tell you how much to run, because everyone has there own opinion, as you can see from the answers you recieved. just run however much you want, stretch well, and push yourself.

    good luck!

  5. everyday, 2-4 miles

  6. Don't listen to anyone here who posted that you should be running everyday its absolute nonsense, you will injure.

If you're new to running do not run on consecutive days and no more than 3x a week.

Build your distance at a rate of 10% per week no more.

Run on soft surfaces such as grass wherever possible.  Get proper running shoes.

  7. it depends on how fast you want to go, if you just want to be able to run it well then just jogging a few times a week will do, You could do a slow 3mile and have no trouble doing a 1-2mile in 3 months. You could run a lot longer distance in 3 months if you trained hard everyday, that is a good amount of time.

    Good luck
