ive always wondered...when you are doing your dressage test, you usually use a white saddle pad...so when you are doing a jumping round, do you have to use a white saddle pad? or can it be black or something? because the horse shows i ride in, there are a few people with different colored saddle pads.

  1. If its hunter, it should be either a white half pad, or a white shaped pad.

    Half pad:http://www.horseandridertack.com/HALF%20...

    Shaped pad:http://www.moonrakerqh.com/tack/gfx/engl...

If its jumper, you can use any color. It can be a shaped pad, half pad or whole pad. It doesn't matter. All that matters is how fast you get around the course.

  2. If you are talking about eventing or combined tests, then you can use any color or shape saddle pad that you want.  Event judges don't judge on fashion, it's only on time and penalty points.

  3. Doing a jumping around???

  4. If its jumpers then it doesnt matter what color you use, mine is black. And if it is hunters then you need a white saddle shaped pad - I forget what their called.

  5. i really dont think that it matters as long as u and your horse isd confertable

  6. If you are talking about dressage and stadium tests at a horse trials, there is no rule about what color your saddle pad needs to be for jumping. You can use whatever color you like in stadium.

  7. jumping you can use anything you want in the way of tack and numnahs. Try to pick a colour that goes well with your horse.

  8. I do lower level jumpers and I one of the few with completely solid white pads (square and/or half). Some of the colors used are:

    Hunter Green

    White with black pipeing

White with green pipeing and green logo

    Dark Red

Pink (with pink boots and pink bell boots)

The pink and red are kinda annoying because it is their schooling pad as well and looked less than amazing (a lot less). I think as long as the pad is clean, neat and fits the horse, you should be OK.

  9. In jumpers you can really use any color pad you want to, but you see most people opt for white because it is the classic color. In the hunters it needs to be white (or natural is acceptable if you use a sheepskin pad).

  10. it depends on what level of horse show you are doing.

if it is a local show, then white is usually better, but it's not a must.

once you get into the higher level shows, you need to stick with white.

    (i show too)
