Question about scholarship essay and resume?

Hi, I am applying for a civil engineering scholarship after my first year at a university. The requirements are that I have taken the math, science, and engineering requirements and have at least a 3.0 GPA. It asks me about my education and career goals in the field as well as my plans for graduated school and how the courses have influenced those goals. I'm not really sure how to start the essay or the "current resume" that it asks for.

Well, since no one else has chimed in here, I will offer my limited opinions.

They are trying to determine that their money wil lbe used for someone who can make a positive contribution to society after graduation, by maintaining your current goals through school.  

As for the resume, list any activities or groups you may be in, hobbies and interests, and also see if your campus has a Business office that will assist you with your resume.  Most do.  Good Luck, and I wish I could have been of more help to you.
