Question about server casing (big one and thin one)?

Question

I have seen some of the servers have big casing and some of them have thin & stackable casing.

when people need thin casing & when they need big one ?

thin casing is for rack mount servers. if you need a buttload of servers in the smallest space these get the job done.

the normal tower case suffices for most home users who only need one or two servers and lots of drives in them.
