  1. The two little "pillows" infront are just that pillows. The shams are the "pillow" looking things that are laying atop of the others and, the "Pillows" lying against the bed are "sleeping Pillows".Shams are covers for pillows that open from the back.

  2. Sham is a fancy word for pillowcase.

So, the two small pillows in the front are accent pillows.

The white pillowcases with border are standard pillow shams.

I think the patterned pillowcases are Euro shams (bigger, square pillows for decoration). I can't really tell without measurements.

  3. The shams are the large pillows with the sewn border around them ,with the circle pattern on it, not the small one at the front. they have a pocket on the back that opens so you can put a bed pillow in it, they come in standard/queen or king size depending on your bed size. They usually come in a bed esomble with the comforter.

  4. Shams are ussually pillows 10" or smaller.  the kind you get when you buy higher end couches.  they are just big enough for your purse dog or average house cat to confortably sleep on.

  5. The shams are the ones that have the same print as the comforter
