Question about sharing software within the household?

I purchased a laptop with Windows Vista and I paid for the Microsoft Office and virus protection software to be installed. We need to get another desktop but don't want to have to purchase the software again. Can we use the same software purchased with the laptop?

i was told that it can be used for up to three computers (is that true) and if it can be used, is it hard to install yourself? any extra info will be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

They say that it doesn't work, but it will work.

It is very easy to install the software.  Just put in the disc and follow the on-screen instructions.  Very basic!
