Question about showing Green Horse?

Ok so If im correct when you show green horse its the horses first year showing right? well Im getting a 3 year old who has bin showed in fertility in a halter class. Is it first year under saddle showing or just first year showing? sorry if that makes no sense

  1. Usually when you enter a Green Horse class, the horse has to be on his or her first OR second year of showing. Check the classes' rules. It usually says whether they permit horses in their second year of showing.

    Even if they don't allow horses in their second year of showing, I would enter your horse anyway since it is her first year under saddle.

  3. This answer is for arabian class b show.  Here is the description from the website:

    GREEN HORSE-

    A green horse is a horse that has not been shown under saddle in any prior year. Classes are open to horses of any age. Horse entered in this division may only be ridden in the Green Horse Western or Green Horse Hunt/Saddleseat  classes, not eligible for any other riding classes . Equipment and appointments must match the seat shown. A bosal, snaffle, or hackamore may be used, as well as a martingale with split reins only. Horse to be shown in this class one year only. Any and all unruly horses will be excused from the show ring.
