Question about steps and losing weight in the long run?

ok so 5000 steps, takes about 50 minutes, and is 2.5 miles.

If i walked 5000 steps in the morning, and ran 5000 steps at night, (and ate healthy of course) would i be able to lose 25 pounds?

I am 6foot and 176 pounds, and i want to get to 140-150lbs. Would this schedule be good for me? and would it help me to tone up?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Its great to do sports, of course, but you may make faults with "healthy food". I would say it is very important to go to Weight Watchers a few times, there you have to pay something ( in europe about 11 Euros, probably its similar to the US). They give you some brochures about which food costs which point and calculate the number of points you can eat daily. Otherwise you could eat something "healthy" without knowing it makes you fat! You get also points for sports and can eat even more. Its easier to do it with the help of them, because then you know what you can eat on a bad day, when it rains and you sit upset at home without being able to come out. My Mum went to Weight Watchers only 4 times. afterwards she were informed enough and has lost her 25 kilos without sports and even without healthy food! So its better to know more and feel safer.

    Good luck!

  2. It depends on how much weight you are willing to lose in how much time. I'm sure you would be able to lose 25 pounds but probably in a spread of a couple of months. (That's the healthy way of course)

170 is a healthy weight for someone who is as tall as you, I was 5'4 and used to weigh 140! So your determination to get down to 140 is quite amazing. If you want to tone up in your upper body area, you should do at least 100-150 crunches daily, push ups and weight lifting. It will tone you up a lot!

Anywho, I just have to say keep up the good work and don't get discouraged!
