Avoid smoking, coffee, (including decaf) alcohol, caffeine, salt, animal fats, dairy products, aspirin, NSAIDs, and vitamin C supplements.

Eat plenty of dark leafy green vegetables.

Keep the colon clean with the consumption of at least two cups of raw fibrous vegetables (carrots, celery, cauliflower) daily.

Some believe that most ulcers are related to food sensitivities.  An elimination diet can pinpoint any problem foods, and one of the first things eliminated is gluten, found in wheat, rye and barley.

  3. DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice), Aloe Vera, and Peppermint Oil all help to soothe and calm the stomach. I have heard of people that used DGL to help with damage to the stomach, so he can try that... it doesn't taste the best, though. Good luck to you both!
