how do i stop getting cramps when i swim??? does eating salt help??? i keep getting it a lot

  1. muscle cramps are caused by dehydration. drink plenty of water BEFORE you get in the pool. that way your body stays hydrated.

    also try eating a banana. they're high in potassium which helps prevent cramping.

  5. bananas are good but try a little drink of tonic water tastes rotten but the quinine in it helps stop cramping this really does work

  6. Its a potassium deficiency.  Eat a banana a day.  Don't point your toes.  I have never heard anything about the salt before

  7. Swimming requires a LOT of energy, so make sure you're eating healthy. Foods with potassium, like bananas, help ease cramps. And don't forget about the other minerals, too lol. Drinking water with Emergen-C almost guarntees no cramping. Good luck and keep swimming

    Cramps are cause by a lack of potassium. Because of that, you need to eat bananas, bell peppers or any fruit/veggie that is loaded with potassium or even some sort of vitamin.

    and make sure to breath ALL THE WAY OUT everytime you breath.  if you dont this leads to cramping fast.

    if you get foot cramp (ouch) walk backwards but as though you were wearing high heels or just sit and stretch your foot - you look like a pillock doing it though!

    just stretch the muscle and wait for the pain to ease

  15. u culd stretch before you go in.. happened to me and I stretched my legs a lot bcoz I kept gettin cramp and I was fiiiine (:
