please resolve the problem of my computer a dialogue box opens again and again apearing the message that "Automatic Updates has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." How can I get rid from this?

  1. im assuming you have norton anti virus running on vista if so got to nortons site and download the live update patch for norton antivirus.its a known problem with norton and vista.if you in xp it still sounds like norton uninstall it then reinstall it you probably got a virus that disabled norton updates

If you just want to get rid of the message and not fix the problem you could alter the registry so that message won't pop up but that is not wise because you wind up having to reinstall windows.  The other way is to turn off automatic updates.  Go to control panel then go to automatic updates.  Select turn off automatic updates.  Now go to start/all programs/ windows update.  This way you will be manually updating windows.  It is important to get the updates because of security patches.  You should be good to go after you get all the updates that you need just choose the express update.

  3. Shut off your automatic updates in your control panel. Noton sucks at best. Get AVG free 7.5.1 It's the best.
