Question about tennis tournys?

I was browsing some local tournys on the usta website and im wondering what it means when they say like mens 50's and mens 30's and mens 70's when classifying the tourny

  1. it means how old each division is


  2. Its what age the group is. For example Group 20's is 20 -> 29 year olds.

  4. That is just the age group you have to be within to play in that tournament. If you do not fit in that age group you can not play. Also, if you see things like mens 4.0 and things like that, that means your skill level, you should ask a tennis instructor about what skill level you are. one last thing, if you see mixed doubles 8.0 or other things like that, that means the male doubles player and the womans doubles players skill added up and that is the total. if one player was 5.0 and the other 3.0 it would be allowed as long as the total was 8.0. hope that helps. :)
