I just moved to Georgia from Alabama. I have never checked my credit before. I am 24 and just graduated college and just started working. I went through the process of selecting one of the 3 from annualcreditreport.com and I tried Equifax and it didnt work and said my info could be wrong or a freeze on me, It might be the info because I just got a ga drivers license today and tried it again with the same company and same result. I then tried it with experian and it started asking me some weird questions like their records show that I have maybe applied for a car loan and maybe a mortgage. I haven't.. I hope it doesnt have anything with identity theft.. I doubt it though. It said if I havent taken a loan or applied for one to just click none... and I just cancelled because I dont know what its talking about. What should I do?

  1. It is always best to go to the three major credit bureaus for your credit reports, instead of going on-line to a third party credit report issuer, to many problems and other issues involved.  You are entitled to one free credit report a year.

  2. They are security questions.  They ask random questions like that to make sure it is really you that is inquiring.  Just answer the questions and it will work out fine for you.

  3. Try this one - http://creditreport.fateback.com

I use it to monitor my credit score during last 3 years. And also cleaned off some bad items from my credit report.

  4. You can get all three of those credit reports for free directly from the agencies. Go directly to Experion, and the other two whose names escape me at the moment. I hope you didn't give them any credit card numbers... you may have signed yourself up for something else besides those reports you can get for free if you did... but sounds like you didn't complete the thing at that particular website.

The reporting agencies ask you all kinds of weird questions to make sure you are who you say you are. Only you would know the answer to the questions like if you had previously had a loan somewhere, etc.

Remember, if you are at the official website of the credit reporting agency their web address should begin https:// (the S for secure site).

  5. THREE TOP CREDIT COMPANIES AND TRUST WORTHY R TRANSUNION, EQUIFAX, N EXPERIAN IM A LOAN OFFICER AND THATS WHAT I USE THE ?S THAT U R TALKING ABOUT THOSE R JST SECURE QUESTIONS THEY JST DO IT TO MAKE SURE ITS U N NOT SOMEONE ELSE TRYIN TO USE UR INFO SO JST ANSWER IT AND IF ANY PROBLEM WITH SOMETHING THAT U DNT REMEMBR DOIN OR APLYIN FOR U CAN ALWAYS GO AHEAD AND DISPUTE IT WITH THE COMPANY

    HOPE I HELPED

  6. Request your credit report through Tran Union. Their toll free #  is 1-877-322-8228. After you receive it, there should be a reference # on the top right hand side. Then call their customer service # @ 1-800-916-8800 then put in the reference #, that will transfer  you to a live person

  7. sounds like you might be a victim of identity theft sorry you need to call and talk to someone and they will tell you what to do next check with all three agency's than take the proper steps to fix it good luck
