I'm taking AP physics C next year. the description on collegeboard makes it seem like there is mechanics and electricity/magnetism on the test. i was reading my teacher's course description for next year and it seems like she's just covering mechanics. are there 2 different tests for physics C or do you definitely cover electricity/magnetism during the year?

  1. The AP Physics C class and test is separated into 2: Mechanics and Electricity/Magnetism.  There is a different test for each section.  A class and teacher may choose to teach only one of the topics or both, and the student may choose to take 1 or both.  But colleges mainly accept it if both exams are taken.  Some schools require that both exams be taken or that just 1.  You should e-mail or ask your teacher if only one topic will be covered or both.  S/he may have just put up the description for the first part s/he will be teaching: mechanics.

  2. AP Physics B covers kinetics and mechanics, but Physics C covers E&M AS WELL!

My advice for the Physics C exam:  Cry alot before the test.  It is VERY hard and I got a 1 on it...
