Question:

Question about the English Monarch ? What if ....?

Just wondering about this. My great grand father was a fishing guide and small boat captain for King George Vl with Queen Mary , I am told, in 1935-6 about in Canada, Ontario, Georgian Bay.

The actual question is, how or is it possible, to gain factual information from the English Crown that might reflect my great grandfather did provide this service to the King at that time?

If so, how would a person go about inquiring in the first place?

Any help, opinion or information will not be refused.

Thank you.

  1. That is impossible since King George VI and his Queen Consort Elizabeth, undertook their "first" extensive tour of Canada on May 19th, 1939 during which they made a brief visit to the United States. George was the first reigning Monarch of Canada to visit North America. Since King George VI never visited Canada during your given timeframe (1935-6), then obviously there are no factual info that can be gained from the English Crown...

  2. Queen Mary was the mother of George VI

perhaps George V and Mary in 1935?

or George VI and Elizabeth (parents of present queen) after 1936

Edward VIII was king til Dec 1936

I'd try your library with local papers, which would likely carry the event of a royal visit

Failing that, I'd try british High commission
