Question about the IUD?

Okay so I know the IUD can cause you to stop your period eventually...but i had my period when i had it inserted...I should of had my period a week or so ago..and be for you say go take a pregnancy test Im not asking if Im pregnant..im asking could it be possible my period just already stopped?? my body always takes things every well..(im not feeling any kind of pregnancy sympotoms)

  1. everyone's body is different your periods may have stopped already or they start to be irregular before they stop completely.


  2. Everyone is different. When I had my 1st one inserted i spotted the 1st month and after that was period free. With my 2nd IUD (I did an even swap) I had no bleeding no period. Count yourself a lucky one. Only 12% of women stop having a period al toghether. Some women it takes 12-18 months to stop having a period

  3. I wouldn't worry about being pregnant.  When I first got mine, I was taking a test every month because I was so nervous! LOL... I've had mine for a year and a half and can tell you it's very effective.  My period went away almost immediately.  Every once in a while I'll spot but the spotting only happens once.  Usually I notice it when I go to the restroom.  It is possible that your period has stopped, but it could be possible that it's a little late because of getting used to the IUD.  If you get it at all, it may be light.  And you may not see it again until you get the IUD removed.
