Question about the NL?

Ok so this is a question to all those fans who's team is in the NL. I am a cardinals fan and am not sure how i feel about this. Say the season ended today, and the four teams in, in order are 1. cubs 2. mets 3. diamondbacks 4. Brewers (obviously my cardinals will overtake the brewcrew or the cubbies in this order eventually) but anywho, if you are a brewers or cubs fan(if you had the choice), would you rather have the division crown or the wild card crown. Since two teams from the same division cant play eachother in the nlds, as it stands the brewers would play the mets and the cubs play the dbacks. Would you rather face haren twice/webb twice/johnson once in a 5 game series or Santana twice/?/?. I would rather play the mets (meaning taking the wild card). I would be scared to death to play the d-backs, regardless of their record. What do you guys think? I mean i know winning the division is top priority, but if you could have your choice, what would you take?

  1. You'd rather play the Mets, a team that just smacked around Kyle Lohse, than the barely-able-to-stay-at-.500 D'backs?

The Mets just took 2 of 3 from the Cards, and the only game the Cards won was in the 14th inning when the Mets ran out of pitchers.

Oh wait, this assumes that the Cards would overtake the Brewers and/or Cubs.  NEVERMIND, cuz that ain't gonna happen.

  2. i"d take division...the d-backs have little offensive support and you don't just have Santana to worry about...Maine is usually good and is Oliver Perez is good when he is on (even though he can be awful when he is wild)

and if you win the divison you have home field advantage

  3. I would take the division win, because you get home field advantage. Regardless of who you play, homefield advantage can be big.

Also, at the moment I'd be more afraid of the Mets. The Dbacks have a lack of offense right now. The Mets are more all-around.

  4. Division win, more bragging rights for our St. Louis Cardinals and home field advantage until the World Series. (I would not brag here, but just in my mind)

  5. Homefield advantage

  6. Great question. I am a Brewers fan and believe that either the Cardinals or the Brewers will be the WC with the other being be the division winners. (Sorry Cubbies).

As it stands now, I agree that I would rather face the Mets than the Dbacks. Of course after 26 years of being out of the playoffs, Brewer fans like myself will be happy to play anyone!
