Question:

Question about the Philips LX3500D...?

I recently hooked up an LX3500D, and I've noticed an output for a second center speaker. The output for the speakers that came with the system use speaker wire, but this second output uses an RCA cable. I'm just wondering... whats the point?

And if anyone has this system, what speaker do you, or would you, hook up to that output?

  1. This may just be an optional choice for how to connect the one centre speaker, as some speaker boxes only have RCA connection on them, and you may want to go for a differnt one to that supplied.

RCA lead is a form of coaxial cable which gives improved signal interference rejection over twin flex speaker wire. Microphone  and guitar leads are of this type.

  2. that is a just in case line out.  or it would go to an input on your tv if you wanted to use that as a center.  it doesnt need to be used at all.  if there is a second center speaker on any system it is usually used for rear center.
