Question about the card reasoning?

if i activate reasoning and my oponent calls 4 and a level 5 comes up can it be special summoned or do i keep going through my deck until a monster that can be normal summoned comes up. there are 2 different versions of reasoning and i dont know witch one is correct

  1. The version of Reasoning that says "a monster that can be normal summoned is picked up" is the correct version, since it is the most recent release.

    In your example, the level 5 monster WOULD get special summoned.  Normally, a level 5 monster can be normal summoned by sacrificing one of your monsters.  

    What Reasoning means by "a monster that can be normal summoned" is that monsters like "Aqua Spirit" which say "this card can ONLY be special summoned by removing 1 water monster in your graveyard from play)" will not work with Reasoning.  

    Another example: if you pick up Blue Eyes White Dragon with Reasoning, it will be special summoned to the field, since in a normal duel it is possible to normal summon it with two sacrifices.  If you pick up Chaos Sorcerer, keep picking up cards, because Chaos Sorcerer's effect is that it can "only be special summoned by removing 1 light and 1 dark monster from the graveyard"...etc...
