  1. Encarta dictionary:

    "Betrayal of country:

A violation of the allegiance owed by somebody to his or her own country, e.g. by aiding an enemy."

I suppose that could include a lot of liberals, or most of them.

  2. crimes against your country.. George HW Bush said that people who out CIA agents are guilty of treason...IRONIC that his son did it a decade later

  3. Treason in nutshell is betraying your country in some way. Like sharing intelligence, sharing military protocols, etc. A quick Google search brought up lots of links, one is below.

  4. In the United States Constitution, Article III pertains to the Judicial Branch. There are three sections, and Treason is handled in the 3rd section.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. Clause 2: The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Treason, means disloyalty or treachery to one's country or its government. Treason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance; the crime of giving aid or comfort to the enemies of one's government.

I believe Article III about the Judaical branch is short because it never was intended to have power over the Executive or Legislative Branches. It was only intended to interpret laws, not make them.
