is an online auction a form of contract? and if so does any one have a link i cant find any information about this

It would depend on the country and state your in. Generaly under US Federal law there are standards under the electronic contract law (search that ) or signiture law.

Also age is a factor along with whatever you agreed to to sign in to that auction.
