A local theater is doing the musical 1776. I really want to see it, but someone told me it is more of a "adult" musical. What do they mean by this? I am 14 years old, should I see it? Thanks

Have a great day!

  1. 1776 is a really good musical. 14 is a very good age to go and see it. You'll learn a lot, as well as understand a lot more about the people who turned 13 colonies into a new nation. They were people just like us, with the same hopes and fears, prejudices and problems that we face today.

One of the neatest things about it is that the dialog is mostly drawn from words the actual founders of our nation spoke or wrote at one time or another. It's funny, it's dramatic, it's romantic, and suspenseful and inspiring. I think you'll like it a lot.

  2. there are some metaphors that are kind of innapropriate but i'm 14 and we read it in my 8th grade english class so you should definately see it its very good and you learn a lot

  3. You absolutely should see it! It rocks! I was 12 when I saw the film with my parents. What someone might have meant by "adult" is there is some swearing by our founding fathers, as well as some risque remarks from Ben Franklin, who was a bit of a dirty old man. But there's nothing that a 14-year-old can't see. The musical makes history really come alive.
