Does anybody understand how Remarque's diction choice helped develop the theme of the destructiveness of war?

  1. He showed the war through the eyes of a soldier, not an innocent bystander. He was after a realistic look at the bloodiness and he gave it by using the mouth of a fighter.


  2. Good answer Ruth but wasn't Remarque a she - I've read the book along time ago - Note: All Quiet war rated as the number one war movie.
