i have a few questions here.

i was wondering what kind of specs it would take to play the pcsx2 emulator perfect or very close to full speed.

also is the main influence on the frame rate the graphix card or is it the cpu?

could you tell me a specific setup including graphix card and maybe even a place i might be able to get it if you are feeling generous.

thank you

  1. You'll need a hardcore pc to emulate ps2 games using pcsx2. The specs are

Recommended System: (Will run optimized games at full speed or close to full speed; ie. games like FFX, FFXII, Disgaea 2)

3.0 Ghz or higher Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad-Core

    8600 GT or higher

1GB Ram (2GB if using Vista)

    Optimum System:

4.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad-Core

    8800 GT or higher

    2GB Ram

The framerates are either on graphic card or cpu depending of what type of graphic plugins you use. Zerogs plugins are more gpu dependent while Gsdx plugins are Cpu dependent. I advice you to use Gsdx plugins because in most cases it is faster and compatible with most games than zerogs plugins.

Note: there are some games that do not run at full speed and there are some games that are not playable at all
