Is the time capsule used for more memory or backup in case of unsuspected shut down? link below

If not, how do I get alot more memory like this for my laptop?

    You can use it for backup or extra space, whatever you want.

    Use a backup program to backup to it. Set the backup program to automatically run a few times a week.

    Partition it to use as a backup on one partition and extra/work files on the other partition.

    It would be great for your laptop since you would not have to connect any cables to use it.
