Okay, I am going from Pennsyvania to Nevada. I have a Hyundai Elantra (2006). I can drive straight west through the upper midwest states where the temp. is an average of 15-25 farenheit, or i can go a few hundred miles south and travel through FL, LA, TX, AZ and NM and then go up. The difference in total travel time is less then 20 hours, and a few hundred miles (which I dont mind). It is much warmer and an enjoyable trip down south since the whether is mild. But which route should I take if I want to meet cool people, see cool sights/landmarks and such? Thanks!

  1. There's more to see if you take the southern route.  If time isn't an issue, I would recommend it.  Up north there are some areas of interest but mostly just flat, brown, land and a highway.  In the south there are mountains, lakes, more populated areas, etc. Actually, you wouldn't need to go so far south, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, southern Indiana have nice landscapes.
