Question about treating a wooden fence?

just built a fence privacy 6ft with treated wood

question is do i need to water seal it right away before it rains or wait? what's the difference

2panels do not match should i wait till the weather a bit then seal?

  1. you need to let the wood dry out for at least a month or two before sealing it.  


  2. If it is treated wood, you should let it dry out first.

    Don't do anything until spring.

    Then go to Home Depot any check out all of the options.

    There are many to choose from.

  3. You may apply a clear preservative immediately, but it must be a product manufactured for use on fresh pressure-treated lumber.  One such product is Wolman Oil-Base RainCoat Clear Water Repellant

  4. You really do not need to seal treated wood.  If you really want to, I would wait until the different section matched a little better.  The best sealer I ever used was found at the ICI Delux Paint store.   I do not remember what it was called.
