are heads interchangeable between manufacturers? I want to get a Slik Trigger Release head, and buy a used tripod to put it on. So do I need to buy a Slik tripod, or can I pretty much expect that it most decent 'pods will accept it?

  1. You should be able to use it on any type of pods. Although, anything really old, might not have the same fitting. Go asked the seller to make sure. I have an old tripod (20 years old) that I used with different attachment head for it, and works fine.

  2. sometimes they are interchageable. I have a Slik 88 and have used a Manfrotto head on it and the Slik head on a Manfrotto monopod. Most use a ¼ x20 thread but some use a 3/8 thread and there are adapters available.

  3. yes as per email
