Question about ultrasound?

I just had my first ultrasound today..It was for dating and sizing purposes because my periods are irregular...The baby measures at 11 weeks exactly. My next appt is on the 10th i will be 14 weeks..then my next appt after that one i will be 18-19 weeks..question is which appt will they prob do the complete ultrasound where i will be able to tell the s*x? will they do it at my 18-19 weeks or would they wait all the way until i am 22-23 weeks? I just cant wait to find out!!!

Most likely they wll be able to tell you at the 18-19 week. Some women are able to find out at like 16 weeks if they are lucky! If their baby is big enough and "cooperates" with you by spreading its legs lol!

It was my 18week appointment when they did mine. The same appointment they did the triple screen for down syndrome and birth defects. Not every doctor is the same, but  I just asked at my first appointment... I was about 6 weeks, when my sonogram would be because I was ready then to know the s*x!

They can tell from about 14- 16 weeks if its pink or blue, however they will look if you ask on scan at 18 weeks which is sometimes counted as your 20 week,

im only having two scans in my whole preg as that is all we are allowed in the south of england one at 12 and one at 20.

week 12 is dating and nt test

week 20 is anomaly scan to check all is cool and to s*x the baby if you wish.

im not finding out the s*x though

My doctor said at 20 weeks he will do it and tell me. I heard u can do it after 16 weeks though, try going to the places that do the 3 -4D ultrasounds, the ones with the brown, really detailed pictures, they can tell u at 17 weeks for sure. Good luck to you.

They will probably do it at your 18-19 week checkup. They will not schedule an appointment just for an ultrasound to see the s*x.

They will usually do the complete ultrasound at about 20 weeks. I was like you and that time fell between two doctor's visits but I found out that they make a seperate appointment for that. Just remember the longer you wait the more sure they will be of the s*x. Good Luck! BTW I am having a girl!

It's a boy!

Now, that is provided the baby is in the right position! So, if the baby is in the correct position at 18-19 weeks it is likely you will find you the gender!! The anatomy scan is generally done between 18 and 22 weeks.

My Dr. would make a separate appointment for the ultrasound.

Either one. I had mine done when I was 19 weeks but know of some women that have theirs done around 22 weeks. Haha, sorry, I know you'd like a definite answer but unless you call your doctor and check for sure you probably won't get one.

I had an ultrasound at 19 weeks and the tech acted like it was ridiculous of me to think I would be able to find out that soon.  I was a little upset because everybody I'd talked to (online here and friends/family) seemed to have been able to find out around that time.  So anyway, I had to wait another four weeks to find out it was a boy!!  Good luck to you - as long as the baby is in a good position, it seems as if most people find out at 18-19 weeks so hopefully you will too!  Maybe I was just one of the exceptions...

We tried to determine the s*x of my baby at 18 weeks, although he was VERY uncooperative and had to go back 3 weeks later. But, I would say they will probably try at 18 weeks. Make sure you drink lots of water and maybe drink something cold and eat a lil sugar right before to help the baby move. Good luck!
