Question about underage driving

im starting high school and one my neighbors has his permit and offered to take me with him to school everyday.. but him driving by himself with no adult ( his parents let him). if he were to get stopped would i get in trouble too?

ps.. my mom cant drive me because she has work and my sister to get ready for school and no bus because i got into this school on academy so not in school zone

  2. Are you a liscensed driver? Your state may be different, but where I live, if you are it would be ok.

    But if you're not, or if it's not ok, you might not get into trouble per say, but it would be wise to save yourself the hassle. The car would likely be impounded and you would have to call your mom to come get you... it would be a big mess.

  3. no you wouldn't get into trouble. your friend would though, I used to ride with my cousin home after school but she had a school permit where she could only drive to and from school...idk if that's what your neighbor has? that may be something to ask your parents about for you to get if that is offered where you live? otherewise, if you do not feel like risking geting your neighbor in trouble it sounds like your mom should plan on just taking you to school earlier then normal before she goes into work. or work something out for a legal driver to take you.
