I have a Dell Dimension 8400. It has a ATI Radeon X300 SE Video Card. I really dont like it. All the games i play have terrible quality because of the Video Card. So I want to upgrade it to a NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT / 512MB DDR2 / SLI Ready Video Card. Now I have an Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.0 GHz. And 3 GB of RAM with Windows XP Home SP2 64 bit. I really like everything on this computer except for the video card. Will it be able to play games better if I get that card?

  1. A better video card will be better for games. The most important thing in upgrading video cards is what slot you have available-AGP, PCI, or PCI express(x16). Download BelarcAdvisor to find out. Older pc means its probably AGP. You have to get a card that fits your motherboard slot. Newegg.com and Pricewatch.com have the best selection and prices. PCI Express is the best, but you will probably have to get a newer pc to use a PCI Express card.

  2. of course you will its a great graphics card but if you have the money go with the geforce 8800gt  the 8800gt is like 5 times better then  your current card.. and it will be able to run all games on the highest settings         yes it will  it doesnt matter what processor you have you can use any graphics card you like.. the processor is good anyways at 3.0 ghz thats pretty impressive
