I am an experienced singer, and I am a junior in high school and I live in south carolina. But I'm looking for voice competitions around the Carolina's that I can enter into. I sing mostly pop, r&b, contemporary stuff.

  3. You are very young and have a long way to go. Singers of your age are just barely starting out. You need to focus on school. However, if you are interested in some competing, you should check out some research online and you'll be sure to find some competitions that fit your potential. Ask your guidance counselors in school. They could probably direct you. You could practice your performances by volunteering some singing gigs in hospitals and nursing homes. You'll have an audience, and at the same time this will give you a chance to perform and entertain people. For very little money you can rent a church to do a singing gig, and post flyers. You may want to send some flyers to a few managers to invite them to your performance. There are also music camps which you should research online. These music camps specialize in training young musicians. This may be something for you. Make a CD tape of some songs you sing, and then send them to people who can help you.Chances are someone who listens to your songs may like them and get you some jobs. All of these things will not materialize right away, and will require lots of time and effort. If you keep working at it you may get an opportunity, but nothing is guaranteed. Remember, though, these music careers are not promising, and usually last only when you are young. But if you really love music you will always enjoy what you do regardless. Good luck!
