first, i've asked some "psychics" before, and other people into the occult. i'm into the occult too, but none of their answers seemed to "feel" right.

second, NO i was NOT on any drugs. and NO, no one could've slipped me any.

berkeley, california -- around the year 2000/2001, a friend and i were fifteen and wandering around the streets alone. (i know, great idea. we were rebels.) and thought i'd be fun to go into an abandoned parking lot off of shattuck avenue. we sat down underneath a tree, and as we chatted (it was around 12am by now.) we saw what looked like the form of a man (it did not look feminine at all. about 3 blocks away. wearing all black. pale face.

this "person" used light magic. friend said a car went through them. made us slightly hallucinate visually, and we heard things as well. we couldnt move, but could talk. the spell, or whatever lasted until dawn and wore off. then we could move. simply gone once the sun came up.

any ideas?

  1. I must point out the logical error in your statements.  You say a man caused you to experience visual and auditory hallucinations.  Might not the man have been a hallucination as well?

  2. It might be a ghost.

  3. In Hawaii, we have a phenomena called the choking ghost.  This entity, which some say is just sleep paralysis, will cause you to have difficulty breathing, you'll be unable to talk and unable to move.  But this usually happens when the person is sleeping.  I've experienced this once.  It was when my grandfather passed a way.  I told my mom about what happend and it was then that she told my that my grandfather passed a way in the Philipines.  She said he was visiting me to say goodbye, but didn't want me to see him and be scared.  Just a theory, but may be you and your friend were either sitting on a grave or walked over a grave or site of a person death and they were upset with you guys.  I've heard stories of mainland visitors or even local people walking over sacred areas called "heiau".  These were once places of worship to the ancient Hawaiians.  Well, by walking over these sacred places, they angered the spirits.  The spirits actually latched onto them causing them paralysis, or unexplainable swelling in their feet and legs.  These people went to the doctor and the doctor could not come up with any expanation for their ailments.  They only way they got cured was by seeing a Kahuna or Hawaiian priest.  Kinda fits your description, but luckily it wore off.

  4. Well Ive been reading The Mothman Prophecies and it sounds to me that you may have encountered a M.I.B. (men in black) or an alien .Because every thing you described sounds very close to all the reports of the M.I.B. they wear all black and have a pale complexion, the only thing missing is a UFO sighting there are known to ask question but that is what came to mind while reading your question. Oh and another thing reported by M.I.B. or UFO sightings is a paralyzed feeling.

  5. I think that you may have seen some kind of 'ghost'. Although you may have fallen asleep and may have not realized it. Or you were probably hallucinating but then again i dont know how you and your friend had the same exact dream or the same exact hallucination. Very interesting question!

  6. And besides, nobody can see 3 blocks at night with any degree of clarity.  Then you hallucinated until dawn.  Um, OK.

What can I say?  You were in Berkeley.

    EDIT: Sorry, misread.
